  • 10 leaves 10 fresh mint leaves Fresh mint for muddling
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons granulated sugar Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons water To help muddle the mint
  • 2 ounces 2 ounces bourbon Use high-quality bourbon for the best flavor
  • Crushed ice For serving
  • Mint sprigs for garnish Optional for decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a traditional mint julep glass or a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar.
  2. Pour a splash of water into the glass and gently muddle the mint leaves with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release the mint oils.
  3. Fill the glass generously with crushed ice.
  4. Pour the bourbon over the ice, allowing it to chill and mix with the mint and sugar.
  5. Stir gently to combine, then garnish with a sprig of mint.
  6. Serve with a straw and enjoy your Mint Julep!

Notes

For an enhanced taste, experiment with different sugars or spirits, and consider serving with light snacks.
