Main Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheese Use any variety, such as cheddar, pepper jack, or mozzarella

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Use a spatula to break it apart as it cooks until it is no longer pink.
  2. Once the meat is browned, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables become soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, cooked rice, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure all the ingredients are combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  5. Top generously with shredded cheese, ensuring that it covers the entire surface of the beef mixture.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes. Look for the cheese to melt and bubble, creating a beautiful golden crust on top.
