  • 1 pound beef (chuck or stew meat), cut into cubes You can also try brisket or round for different flavor profiles.
  • 4 cups beef broth Homemade broth is recommended for enhanced flavor.
  • 2 pieces carrots, chopped Feel free to adjust vegetables based on preferences.
  • 2 pieces potatoes, diced
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 celery, chopped Optional for added crunch.
  • 1 cup peas Optional for a sweet touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Once hot, add the beef cubes to the pot, browning them on all sides.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until they are translucent and fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring it to a boil.
  5. After it reaches a rolling boil, add the chopped carrots, diced potatoes, and any optional ingredients.
  6. Stir in the dried thyme and season generously with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  2. Before serving, remove any bay leaves and taste to adjust seasoning, if necessary.
