  1. In a large crock pot, combine the teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the sauce, ensuring they are fully coated.
  3. Cover the crock pot and set it to cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the pot.
  5. If desired, mix cornstarch with water until smooth, then add to the pot for a thicker sauce. Allow it to cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Serve the Teriyaki Chicken over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For variations, you can substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts or tofu for a vegetarian option. Adding other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots can enhance the flavor and nutrition. This dish holds up well for meal prep and can be stored in the fridge for 3 to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
