Ingredients

For the marinade
  • 1 cup yogurt Plain yogurt preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For color.
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • to taste Salt
For serving
  • Cilantro for garnish Fresh.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, vegetable oil, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, garam masala, paprika, turmeric, and salt. This mixture will serve as the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, though marinating overnight is ideal for maximum flavor.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If you have a broiler setting, consider using it for extra charring.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place the marinated chicken on it. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and slightly charred on the edges.
  3. Once cooked, garnish the chicken with fresh cilantro and serve it hot.

Notes

For spice lovers, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to your marinade. Make it a complete meal by serving with rice, naan, and cucumber salad. If short on time, grilling the chicken can reduce cooking time. A vegetarian option can be made using the same marinade on cauliflower or paneer.
