  • 8 oz noodles (such as egg noodles or rice noodles)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef slices and cook until browned.
  2. Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Pour in the sauce and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and add to thicken the sauce.

  5. Garnish with green onions, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.

Notes

Try marinating your beef slices in soy sauce and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking to intensify the flavor. Substitute the beef with chicken, tofu, or even shrimp for a different protein option. Add more vegetables like carrots, broccoli, or snap peas to make the dish more colorful and nutritious.
