Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast Trim any excess fat and cut into large chunks.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Divided into portions for searing and cooking.
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced Add more for extra garlicky flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Trim any excess fat from the beef chuck roast and cut it into large chunks for even cooking.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt a tablespoon of butter and sear the beef chunks on all sides until browned.
  3. In your slow cooker, add the remaining butter, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and thyme. Mix well.
  4. Place the seared beef chunks into the slow cooker, ensuring they are coated with the sauce.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
  2. Once cooked, remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  3. Return the shredded beef to the sauce in the slow cooker and stir to combine.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.

Consider adding carrots or potatoes to the slow cooker for a complete meal. Adjust seasoning to personal taste with herbs or spices.
