Preparation
- Season the beef: Generously season the beef steak with salt and pepper.
- Sear the steak: In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak on both sides until it’s beautifully browned.
- Sauté the vegetables: Remove the steak and set it aside. In the same skillet, sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until soft.
- Deglaze the pan: Pour in the brandy, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any tasty bits. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Combine in the slow cooker: Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet, mix well, and pour over the seared steak in the slow cooker.
- Slow cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and enjoy.
Notes
For thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with cold water and add to the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving. Consider adding more vegetables for added nutrition.
