Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease and flour a bundt or tube pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually combine the flour mixture and milk with the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix on low speed until combined.
- Stir in vanilla and almond extract.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake for 75 to 85 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack.
Glazing
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk (or cream), and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake and let it set before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients. Add-ins like chocolate chips or nuts can be used for extra texture.
