Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk for marinating the chicken

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Method
 

Marinating
  1. Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to tenderize the chicken.
Coating Preparation
  1. In another bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Frying
  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and coat each piece thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  3. Fry the chicken in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  5. Serve hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

Experiment with spices for different flavors. For a healthier option, try baking at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes.
