Preparation
- In a large, wide mug, mix 5 tablespoons of Nutella and 1 large egg with a fork until combined.
- Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of flour, and 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder to the mug. Mix well to ensure there are no dry pockets of cocoa.
- Add 1 tablespoon of Nutella in the center of the batter without mixing it in.
- Microwave the mug on medium power for 90 seconds. If still liquidy, microwave in 15-second increments until set but still gooey in the center.
- Let the cake cool for about a minute before digging in. Optionally, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Notes
Choose a wide, microwave-safe mug for even cooking and avoid overcooking to prevent a rubbery texture. Clean the mug immediately after use to avoid hard-to-clean chocolate residue.
