Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder until well combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and pale.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each one is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving enough space for the cookies to spread.
- Sprinkle colored sprinkles on top or use icing to decorate the cookies as desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the edges are very lightly browned.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, consider chilling the cookie dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can also customize the cookies with different add-ins like nuts or fruits.
