Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well mixed and smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough begins to form.
  6. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick, using a rolling pin.
  7. Use cookie cutters to cut out your preferred shapes and place the cookies on a lined baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before decorating with royal icing and sprinkles or edible flowers.
