  • 3 large eggs Room temperature for best results.
For Decoration
  • 1 batch Frosting of choice (e.g., buttercream or cream cheese frosting) Customize based on preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Decorating
  1. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  2. Once cooled, frost with your choice of frosting and decorate with fresh flowers or fruit.
