Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Used for thickening the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water To mix with cornstarch
For Garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the linguine according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Mix well.
  5. In a separate bowl, prepare a slurry by mixing cornstarch with water. Pour this slurry into the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss until all noodles are coated with the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier option, use lean ground turkey or chicken. Incorporate extra vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli. Allow for gluten-free adaptations using gluten-free noodles and tamari sauce.
