Preparation
- Cook the linguine according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
Cooking
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, prepare a slurry by mixing cornstarch with water. Pour this slurry into the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss until all noodles are coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
Notes
For a healthier option, use lean ground turkey or chicken. Incorporate extra vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli. Allow for gluten-free adaptations using gluten-free noodles and tamari sauce.
