  • 1 pound turkey breast, cooked and sliced Use pre-cooked turkey for easier preparation.
  • 4 slices bacon Crispy texture adds flavor.
  • 1 cup Mornay sauce (or cheese sauce) A creamy sauce that is essential for the dish.
  • 4 slices tomato Fresh, adds moisture and flavor.
  • 8 slices bread, toasted Use a hearty white or sourdough bread.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese For added richness and flavor.
  • Parsley for garnish Chopped, for presentation.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Set aside on a paper towel to drain.
  3. Arrange the toasted bread slices in a single layer in a baking dish.
  4. Layer the sliced turkey on top of the bread followed by the slices of fresh tomato.
  5. Pour the Mornay sauce over the top and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes until heated through and the cheese is melted.
  2. Switch to the broiler and broil for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is golden.
  3. Remove from the oven and garnish with crispy bacon pieces and parsley.

Notes

You can experiment with various cheeses or add sautéed vegetables for a unique twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate.
