Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a pot, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Warm it enough to dissolve the sugar without boiling.
  2. Pour the mixture into a bowl, cover, and chill in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight.
Churning
  1. Dump the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer instructions, typically around 20-30 minutes.
  2. If you want scoopable ice cream, transfer it to the freezer for a few hours. Otherwise, enjoy it straight from the machine.

Notes

To make it uniquely yours, consider adding mix-ins such as chocolate chips, cookie crumbles, fruit, or caramel. Store in an airtight container for best quality.
