Preparation
- Season the beef generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Cooking
- Add the seasoned beef to the skillet, browning it on all sides for about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
- Return the browned beef to the skillet and incorporate the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, and smoked paprika. Stir to combine.
- Bring mixture to a simmer, cover skillet, and cook for about 30 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the beef beforehand. You can also substitute various vegetables or herbs as desired. If a thicker sauce is preferred, mix a cornstarch slurry during the simmering process.
