- Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat and adding the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking apart with a spatula.
- Once browned, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, around 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Mix in the cooked rice, seasoning with salt and pepper according to your taste.
- Transfer mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with shredded cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes.
Notes
For a one-pot meal, cook everything in the skillet without baking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or frozen for three months.
