Ingredients

For the Skewers
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes You can use thigh meat for a juicier result.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Skewers (wooden or metal) Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
  • Vegetables (optional, e.g., bell peppers, onions, zucchini) Optional but recommended for added flavor and nutrition.

Method

Preparation
  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken cubes, olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated in the marinade.
  3. Carefully thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, alternating with pieces of colorful vegetables if desired.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high.
  2. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning them occasionally until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and has nice char marks.
Serving
  1. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them cool slightly. Serve hot as a main dish or share them as an appetizer.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken overnight for deeper flavor. Experiment with different spices and add fresh herbs if using store-bought marinades. Brush honey or teriyaki sauce on skewers for a sweet glaze during the last few minutes of grilling.
