Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about two minutes until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is thin.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, remove them from the pans and let cool completely on a wire rack.
Decorating
  1. Once cooled, frost the cakes with buttercream and decorate with graduation-themed items.
