  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and sprinkles if using.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
