For the cookie dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well until fully combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in each before adding the next. Blend in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using a tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Experiment with flavors like adding espresso powder or different types of chips.
