Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well until fully combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in each before adding the next. Blend in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Experiment with flavors like adding espresso powder or different types of chips.
