Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 200 g dark chocolate for intense chocolate flavor.
  • 150 g unsalted butter keeps the cake moist.
  • 100 g sweetened condensed milk adds a sweet touch to the cake.
For the Mirror Glaze
  • 4 sheets gelatin stabilizes the mirror glaze.
  • Food coloring for decorating the glaze.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Grease and line a round cake pan (23 cm).
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler, stirring until well combined.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk to the melted chocolate and mix thoroughly. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, testing with a toothpick; it should come out clean. Once baked, let the cake cool completely in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
Creating the Glaze
  1. Soak the gelatin sheets in cold water for about 5 minutes, then dissolve them in a small saucepan with 2-3 tablespoons of water over low heat.
  2. Combine the melted chocolate with the dissolved gelatin and add food coloring to achieve your desired color, stirring well.
Final Assembly
  1. Place the cooled cake on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Slowly pour the glaze over the top, ensuring even coverage.
  2. Allow the glaze to set before serving the cake.

Notes

For a multicolored galaxy effect, blend vibrant blues, purples, and blacks in your food coloring. Serve with fresh berries for a refreshing contrast.
