Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces Chicken pieces (legs, thighs, breasts, wings)
  • 2 cups Buttermilk or milk For marinating the chicken
For the Breading
  • 2 cups Flour For breading the chicken
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
For Frying
  • 3 cups Cooking oil For frying

Method

Preparation
  1. Marinate the chicken by soaking the pieces in buttermilk for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour with paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder for the breading.
Cooking
  1. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off, then dredge the pieces in the seasoned flour mixture.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a large, deep skillet to about 350°F (175°C).
  3. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, approximately 15-20 minutes, flipping once.
  4. Drain the cooked chicken on a wire rack or paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

For extra crispy coating, use a double-dip method by re-soaking in buttermilk and coating again in flour before frying. You can bake the chicken at 425°F (220°C) for a healthier option.
