Preparation
- Start by washing the apples thoroughly. Cut them into wedges that are about a half inch thick, ensuring to remove the core and seeds.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Prepare three separate bowls: one filled with flour, the second with the beaten eggs, and the third with panko breadcrumbs combined with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Take each apple slice, dredge it in flour, dip it into the beaten egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring each slice is evenly covered.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the breaded apple slices in the fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray them with cooking spray.
- Air fry for about 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through until they reach a crispy texture.
Serving
- Once done, remove the hot apple fries from the air fryer and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar on top. Serve immediately with your choice of caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. To reheat, place them in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
