  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced You can also use flank steak or ribeye.
  • 2 pieces bell peppers (red and green), sliced Feel free to incorporate additional vegetables like broccoli or snap peas.
  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Low-sodium soy sauce can be substituted.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Check for gluten-free alternatives if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Helps tenderize the beef.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For stir-frying.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Cooked rice or noodles, for serving Best served immediately after cooking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil, then toss in the sliced bell peppers and onion.
  3. Stir-fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the pan with the vegetables, mix well, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

For a more flavorful dish, marinate the beef longer or garnish with fresh herbs. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
