Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or spaghetti)
For the Chicken
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking Olive oil for cooking
For the Sauce and Topping
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional) adds a fresh flavor

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Boil a pot of salted water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Chicken
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat some olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken strips with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Once the chicken is cooked, stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a couple of minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  2. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to ensure it is well-coated with the sauce.
Baking (optional)
  1. If baking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Transfer the pasta and chicken mixture into a baking dish.
  3. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese in an even layer.
  4. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
