Ingredients

Marinade Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup olive oil Extra virgin recommended for flavor.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Can substitute with tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free.
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey Maple syrup can be used as a sweet alternative.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Fresh herbs can enhance flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Can add red pepper flakes for spice.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until well blended.
  2. Choose your chicken cut: breasts, thighs, or wings. Pound breasts slightly for even cooking.
  3. Place the chicken in a resealable bag or container with a lid. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated, then seal securely.
  4. Refrigerate and allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes, up to 24 hours, turning occasionally if possible.
  5. Preheat your grill, oven, or skillet. Remove chicken from marinade, discarding leftover marinade, and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, add fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro. Substitute lemon or lime juice for half of the apple cider vinegar.
