  • 8 pieces String cheese sticks
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper, to taste
  • cooking spray Cooking spray

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting each string cheese stick in half or thirds, depending on how thick you want your sticks to be.
  2. Set up a breading station by placing three separate bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and the last with seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each cheese stick in flour, then dip it into the beaten egg, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Place all coated sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  2. Lightly spray the coated sticks with cooking spray for a golden finish.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and cook sticks for 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Serve the mozzarella sticks hot alongside marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider adding cayenne pepper for heat, using different types of cheese, or substituting gluten-free ingredients if desired. Leftover mozzarella sticks can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
